libplplot12 software package provides Scientific plotting library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libplplot12
libplplot12 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libplplot12 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libplplot12 *
You will get with libplplot12 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
